Default CR-V 2003 Stock radio lighting is always on even with car shut off.

My battery is going dead after just few days just sitting without starting my Honda cr-v 2003 . I think the problem is in back lighting of my radio always staying lit (car have original stock radio for this model and trim-LX) and slowly draining battery. When car is off with ignition key removed and all parking lights off, radio is also off, but radio dashboard buttons are lit. I don’t use radio at all so I pulled off the accessories radio fuse. It disabled radio but did not help with backlighting problem-still radio back lighting is always on with car completely shut. Have anyone had this on any old Honda models? If so, is there a solution aside from just yanking that radio completely off the dashboard?

How much is it drawing? May be a module not sleeping. Need to pull fuses.

Thanks for reply. It is drawing enough to have delayed start (starter is not catching immediately before starting car) after 3-4 days of not driving car, and looks like drains completely in a week or so. After driving, it recharges battery, and it starts without hesitation, so this is not starter or alternator problem. Battery is checked and is good -510 cca. I do not know how to measure that draw. I pulled off the fuse for radio accessory. It is fuse #8 in under dash compartment, and that is the only fuse that described to control radio in my Honda 2003 crv manual. It disabled radio, but backlighting of radio display stayed on even with fuse pulled off

There is no head unit in this car as far as I know. This is 2003 crv , not Tesla. It just has basic radio.

Head unit is another way of saying radio? It must be wired into a "hot at all times" instead of the "hot when on". You will need to remove radio and rewire it. Or just remove the radio entirely.

Default Power

Most automotive radios have two power supplies. One operates the backlighting and retains the clock/preset memory (unswitched) The other, higher amperage feed, operates the radio/ 8 track/ cassette/ CD/ USB (Switched) Newer units also power navigation / blue tooth and WiFi.
