Default Creaking/Clicking noise from all wheels on new 2025 CR-V

Hello all.

Recently purchased a new 2025 CR-V LX 2WD from a Honda dealership, and friends have pointed out some creaking noise coming from the wheels. Anyone know if this normal, and a new CR-V just needs a break-in period before the noise will go away?

The noise has persisted for two weeks, and I think it could be described more like a clicking sound caused by the hubcaps:

Default Creaking

That is not normal.
2025 + Creaking = Have the dealer look at it.

Good luck.

Thanks.
The dealer service center had said over the phone that they have not received complaints from anyone else about wheel noise, and that I should just spend more time getting familiar with a new car. It's been a week since then, so I'll try to push the issue in person this time.

Definitely not normal. I would immediately take it to the dealer. Did that not do that the day you bought it?

Like my wheels, I just went FULL CIRCLE.

When I took my car to the service center, the service rep agreed that the noise was from over-tightening the hardware.

When my car was ready, I was told that I need to drive the car more and the noise will eventually go away. The repair techs supposedly loosened the lugs nuts a little bit, but the clicking is still coming from the hubcaps.

I could not hear the noise with the engine running and windows up. I first learned about it when some friends waved me down while leaving their driveway, and asked about the sound.

Was your radio full blast? I can't imagine you not hearing that.

This is cray-cray. Lug nuts have a specific torque spec, period. 80 ft lbs or 110nm will work. There is a proper procedure to follow. The techs loosened the lug nuts a little bit is likely in my top 10 knucklehead list.

You have plastic wheel covers. Why not just take them off?

If you still have the noise after wheel cover removal then I suggest you find another dealer or indy shop to look at it.
Reason being that it might be an un greased hub bearing which will self destruct and you might see your wheel pass you up on the highway.

Bottom line is its time to get it fixed and its your persistence that will get it done.

Meanwhile, as experienced as the group may be, we cannot diagnose it or fix it from electron land.

Good luck and please post the resolution.

Took the car to a different dealer and asked them to examine the hub bearings, but their service center said there is nothing for them to service with those.

They were confident that the noise is from the hubcaps, and I ended up leaving with the same solution to continue driving until the noise goes away.

Did you try the suggestion to remove the hub caps, driving it and seeing if that definitely is the problem as Just Ducky suggested?
