Hey all, I'm planning on installing a dual dashcam and hardwiring with an inline battery cutoff thing (stop from killing the battery).
I was doing some voltage meter checks and I have 2 empty spots with no fuses that show constant on, 1. The tow fuse 2. Moonroof. I don't have either of these in my vehicle. Pos 10 and 11 (circled red). I'm wondering if I can simply use the empty fuse positions on the fusebox instead of the tap-a-fuse or add-a-fuse options to get protected power from the battery. Irathwr do this than piggy back onto an existing fuse.
Unless you have the service manual that lets you know where those fuses comes out, it is quite a job to trace the circuit to find where to connect to.
Of course, you can always get lucky and find the connection??
And, why not connect to a fuse that is only hot when key is in accessory or on??

The dashcam has an option to run in park, having a motion sensor and therfore ignition off therfore catching anyone who hits and runs. For that I need constant power.
