Default Engine issue

Today I received my notice from Honda stating that there may be an issue with the 1.5 turbo engine. Further states repair should be made as soon as possible or it may impact my emissions warranty. Full day repair. including the air conditioning module plus a software fix. Cannot get over the warranty threat, where have they been for the last year? Their previous statements were that the gas in oil issue would not harm the engine. No mention of a warranty extension, just an implied threat.

Sounds like they are just using legal-ese.
There is nothing personal about it
They are just covering their butts

If it is something the car needs that isn't maintenance, they should cover the repair cost. If they do, you should just get in fixed.

This will probably be the case because if they admit your car needs a repair because of a defect, and they don't cover it, they can be sued.

Angry oil dilution product recall

I had my wife's CRV in 2 weeks ago for the software update, ac controller unit replacement and oil change/filter change. 200 miles later oil level back up and gas smell in oil. Engine heats up faster but same problem. American Honda told me to have the dealer check the oil level. District Rep states "normal dilution", smell cannot do anything about and dealer should monitor level. Anyone have any better luck with the fix?

To soon to tell. Engine does not seem to run any hotter. The key may be to do frequent longer trips of 10 miles or so, or park the car until spring.
