High Mileage CRV - Would you buy?
My Brother is looking at a 2019 CRV with 256K miles on it. List price is $12K. Would that scare you off? All records are at the dealer and carfax. Consistently well maintained at the local dealer, according to all written records. For the price, the next options are 2008-2012 CRV's with about 150K miles. So, which would you buy?
My nephew bought a 2007 CRV LX with a little more than 250K miles on the clock for $4500. It has since had starter, alternator, brakes, tires and other things done. It was bought about three years ago. Age plays a greater part. So, nothing to fear about the mileage but, with that much mileage would be looking to negotiate the price lower. I also have a 2007 CRV which I bought from a friend for $5000 about five years ago. It only had 98K on the clock. It has been reliable for the most part.
So, yes I would buy it but for a slightly lower price. Check to see if it needs new tires and negotiate. Brakes, dents, anything that does not work. Negotiate.
