Honda CRV CEL light/code problems
I have been getting on-off CEL lights on my 2000 Honda CRV 4WD with 134,000 miles.
I stopped at Autozone and they gave me a P0303 code for my car.
I took it to a Honda dealer and they want to replace the head and the timing belt at a charge of $5000.
I called an independent Japanese auto repair shop and they said the dealer couldn't possibly know the head needed replacing without taking the engine apart. Also they said you would not want a new head on an "old" block as it will burn oil. They also thought it would only need a valve and a timing belt which they would do for about $1000.
What would you do in this situation?
