Default little bit of oil on the garage floor

we doubt our 1997 CRV has ever had the oil pan off.
see pics - looks like oil all over the oil pan.
we are only getting the tiniest bit of oil on the floor.
any idea what the part with maybe the oil on it is? (middle picture)

time to get the gasket replaced?
is it a straightforward job?
looks like they have to disconnect the muffler!

also one of the pics shows a disconnected air hose. i guess they changed the filter and forgot to replace it. will this have done any harm?
the car was serviced (oil and filter) apr 2017 but the filter was changed in june 2016. we have not noticed anything odd in the driving.

the view of the top of the engine shows some oil here and there - does it look like they just splashed some oil when they changed the oil?
91000 km 56000miles
thanks everyone

Not sure where your filter is but check it for leaks, try and turn it by hand, get under the car after you have driven it and look for the leak when the engine is hot.use a good shop light, sometimes you can spot a drip.
