I just updated the map via the correct process through Garmin / Honda Link. The Garmin app also showed there was a City Navigator update for $75 that I purchased. Was this scam, necessary update, or what? Thanks.

 

Hard to say. If your ‘18 is still under the 5yr since in service (ish) update period then it sounds like you have been bagged. Garmin has yet to release the 2024 update. It is expected in February but no specificity on an exact date.
