Default Moving transmission from 1997 to 1999 Honda CRV

Hello.

First post here.

The head and crankshaft on my 1997 CRV is shot. I also have a 1997 CRV whose transmission is shot (starts to slip after about 3 minutes drive.).

Can I replace the 1999 transmission with the 1997 ?

The 1999 has an overdrive on/off switch whereas the 1997 does not.

Thanks
