MPG on a 1997 CR-v!!
On my 2007 CRV with 104k miles, I get 26 mpg on the highway (travelling at 71 mph).
It gets a little higher running at 65 mph and even better at 55 mph.
Local runs about 12 to 15 mpg depending upon traffic.
What was the question again?

Auto or standard shift? I prefer older cars. I am not complaining, just stating facts. The '97 has older tech and by default
should get less MPGs than a CR-v that is 10 years younger and 100k less miles on the clock. YMMV lol

Automatic All wheel drive.
And, you don't drive the way I do
Or idle as much waiting for the wife to finish her shopping
And, on the highway, at 55mph, I can get close to30 mpg
But, lead foot. BTW, I calculate my gas mileage and don't go by the dash readings
