Hi

Has anyone installed one of these? I really just want the back up camera but the screen feature is needed so it looks like it will have CarPlay too, which is nice if it works correctly.

If anyone can recommend a brand, link, etc. and any advice on install would be greatly appreciated!

So what part of the OEM system is not working? The camera or the head unit?

…And are you fixing it to dump it?

 

sorry, I'm a little confused by the response. I am looking to purchase one and then install it. I am hoping that someone has experience with what type of unit I need to buy and how difficult they are to install. Thanks

 

The 2011 EX-L came with a back up camera as standard for that trim level.

That would be OEM as in Original Equipment Manufacturer

 

i'm sorry, I was using the wrong terminology. I tried to update the title. I am looking for something after market. No, my 2011 EXL does not have the back up camera because it was manufactured in Mexico for Mexico.

In that case I suggest you try Crutchfields to find what you like then shop for the best deal on that unit.

Note: You may have to use 2011 EX to find one. Assuming your south of the border unit has the 7” screen
