Default rear door adjustment

My 2005 CRV rear door does not close tight. After closing the door, I can push another 1/4 inch before the door seems fully closed. The rear dome light and dash warning light flashes when driving. This has only recently started to be a problem. (61K miles) I am pretty handy, have loosened and tightened screws on latch, but does not help. Is there something else i can try before bringing it in to mechanic?

Default RE: rear door adjustment

welcome to the forum, have you tried to adjust the latch in the door. have you removed any spacers in the loop catch on the frame, would it be possible the latch catch in the door is worn. Is there an adjustment on the hinge portion of the door or loose and slipped down a bit, or cracked on the frame side.
