Has anyone used the JDM foreign engines? Everything matches spec wise but the compression ratio....
Ive been told both ways, some say it will mess with the computer, some say nah your good....
And just for giggles, anyone have an American one in good shape?....

Specs on possible engine....

welcome to the forum. I have had several friends use the jdm on different cars. their experience was the distributor system was different and had to change over to American sys, or if left as is, parts difficult to find. some said the jdm has less horsepower than the American made engine. if you need an American spec engine, go to ebay and look for the salvage yards that have your make vehicle, they may be selling the doors or other parts, you can email them and ask if they have the exact engine you have which may cost less, also if you go on the internet and type looking for cr-v engine ------- there usually several salvage yards that will return your inquire and how much they want. just need to ship. also have 30-90 day warranty after installation.
