Default Thinking about a used 2018 CRV Lx 2.4 L

Hello! Recent newbie hear.
I have a very good 2010 Honda Accord ExL with 103k. I am getting older and wishing I had a taller trunk. Also wishing I had a quieter car with less road noise.
I am thinking about a one owner CRV non-turbo engine. (Less noise?) I think Honda started using the turbo engines in 2017.
Anyone have opinions on the 2018 CRV LX 2.4 L? How is that CVT transmission?
Thank you!

welcome to the forum. cr-v is a good suv to drive in but is not quieter with less road noise. the 2.4 is a better choice than the 1.5 turbo. the cvt transmission is good, just have to get use to the engine revs' high to get going then slows as the speed picks up. it is a lot roomy inside and if its an awd you can drive in snow lot better than a 2 wheel drive. if the road noise is loud, you can coat the wheel wheel with black spray acustical material, and if you go to a tire shop like Americas tires or Discount tires they can advise you on getting more quiet tires.or softer tires.

Thank you acmech52 for your response!

I am sorry to hear it is not quieter than my accord, but I will try coating the wheel wells of my accord to see how much that helps. I am using a decibel meter app on my phone from NIOSH to give me subjective readings. My accord goes up to 67 decibels on bumpy parts of the highway without the radio playing or the vents on.

I wish the car reviewers would make note of the decibel readings as part of the evaluation of the comfort of a car.

Thank you for letting me know about the CVT transmission. My 2010 transmission is not CVT and it is seamless. Sigh! My accord mechanically is a very good car.

I have new tires. I think they are Good Year tires. Usually I use Michelins, but they were also not quiet. My mechanic helped me pick them out.

if you want to make that accord more quiet, there is acoustic material pads about 1/4 to 1/2 in thick that is used in the door panels, this means you will need to take the door panels off to install into the door metal side, we used this on small aircraft to kill the prop noise and it worked good. we placed this in every place where there was bare metal and no wires close to the metal panels. did avoid any hot areas like close to the exhaust. it is stick on one side and acoustic inbetween. dont remember where we purchased this from.
