Default Those darn door locks fixed

I have a 2000 CR-V EX and bought it used at 90,000 miles and put 50,000+ on it and could not be happier with it. All of a sudden the door locks started to get a mind of there own. First they decided the drivers door stopped working either with remote or button. But the door button worked. Didn't get around to looking at it and started working fine . Week later only the drivers door worked with the remote or switch and all others nothing. Well had to figure it out and had heard about the notorious broke wires in the harness between the door and kick plate . So after trying all other concepts I cut the rubber boot system and it was a bear as hardly any room to work. But low and behold the white with red was obviously sticking out. I was able to strip it and twisted a new piece onto it wrapped in shrink wrap and added a extra hard section of tubbing over it where it would go through the door and join the other wires at the control ****. I then used a 12" drill bit extender and used it so I could work my drill inside the door and work the drill and bit around the window hardware and drilled the new hole directly above the harness. Worked great and once in there I spliced it inline before the control module attaching the new wire onto the original white and red wire . ( at first I just cut the wire and ran the new wire onto the old wire BUT it won't work the wires must be joined together before it goes to the door fitting.)
So don't get discouraged take your time it will take longer than you think but at least it will now be done right. As far as the cut boot I used try wraps to immobilized the new wire to the door coupler and electrical tape around the boot . Used try wraps to immobilized the wires inside the door too. So happy to have her back like new again.
