Angry wait time body control module

Good afternoon:

The body control module on our 2017 Honda CR-V failed May 01, 2022. With this type of failure the car will not start. Required to pre-pay for body control module before dealer would even order part but with a 4-6 month wait time.

Ask dealer the status of part delivery Friday and they assured us we are at the “top of their list” for replacement of this part. “Top of list”?!??! Asked just how many are on this list, refused to tell me. Been told by another Honda dealer 4 weeks ago they had least 3 CR-Vs in their shop waiting on just this part.

Did Honda get a bad batch of body control modules? Guess the right questions is just how many Honda CR-V are having body control module fail. Repair, parts & labor, is just under a 1K$ to repair?

The reasons to purchase a Honda is quality & reliability but now it seems the only thing reliable for Honda CR-Vs is a monthly car note. Has anyone heard of a class action against Honda for their failure if this part? If there is one I’m more than ready to sign up! Note, this is not a dealer issue, it’s a Honda issue.
