Default asscott

I have a 1982 Asscott that ran a year ago. The battery is charged full but it is hardly able to turn it over. I can only get it to turn over once then I have to let off the starter and try agian. Any ideas?

welcome to the forum. did you do a battery load test. Charge the battery full, do a load test. if the battery is weak internally, it will fail the test. this is what may be causing the starter to be hard to turn. Also if the car sat for a year, pull out the spark plugs and rotate the engine free. you may have a possible hydrolock also.
