Default Cold weather start

I have a 1983 Nighthawk that I recently purchased. Prior to the cold weather I had no problem starting it, however now that the weather has gotten wicked cold, I cannot get it to start. Is this a common problem and is there anything I can do to correct it?

Thanks for any help

You might just try a short burst of either.

May want to look into a small engine block heater.. or not going out in wicked weather. I usually don't ride when the weather dips below 60.. call me a wimp, but when i'm moving it's a good 20 degrees colder and 40 is my limit for cold.
