Default Oil levels

I purchased a 2018 last June with only 4000 miles. After 3000 miles I checked the oil and was a half quart low. Took it in for an oil change and 500 miles later I checked and I was still a half quart low with the engine cold. I checked when the engine was hot and everything looked ok. Started thinking maybe they never changed it. Anybody out there ever have that problem?

The dipstick shows 1/2 quart low when the engine is cold and I just had an oil change.

Top it off and use a different garage next time.

welcome to the forum. In a cold climate, oil may condense and show a bit lower cold then after running the engine and checking hot oil level. the shop changes oil and checks it hot and fills to top reading on the stick. after sitting and cooling off the oil will drop a little. before adding any oil, check after a good warm up (to temp)
