hey i got my friends 94 accord 4dr with a 97 pralude motor. the damn car wont pass smog and needs help badly. i need to upgrade to ODB2 i think, but it passed smog before.

I have a new Cat for it, The engine light is on, And it sounds like it has a govornor on it when u exceed 3500rpm.

people say throttle positoning sensor but i cant find one for a 97 pralude. its like they dont make one or it doesnt have one. help me please.

how do i check the codes and are they gonna be accurate if it has the wrong ecu? if so where can i get the code descriptions?

 

I use a diagnostic tool called CarMD. It will pretty much tell you whatever is wrong with your car as long as it is a 1996 or newer. It costs about $90 andit plugs into the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD-II) port. Very easy to use. Heres a link to the site if you want to check it out:
