Default Couple of questions, new guy here

Hi, new guy here and I'm looking to buy a used civic. I'm looking at the 95-98 models and was wondering if and what I should look out for that may not be obvious to a person new to hondas. I know quite a bit about cars, just not hondas. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

Hi, welcome to the forum

the important things is you have to check engine, timing belt and transmission.

Some questions to ask are if it comes with vtec or not, and if it ever had an engine swap before, as many people do with their Hondas. Vtec is a nice bonus if you're looking into buying a Honda.

if possible, get one of those vehix reports. maybe bring a mechanic you can trust along when you buy it. check mileage, anything over 150K is not worth it,

I'd definitely recommend bringing a mechanic with you if you know one. Try to get a compression test, as well as checking for seal leaks.
