Welcome to the forum,I don't know if they are faster than a Toyota but the Celica pushes 140 HP and the Lude 200 HP. here is a little something I copied from another site that might help you get a few more ponies out of that car. 1: Your stock intake is a CAI intake .
2:When you consider that a 4cyl engine only has 1 intake runner demanding air at any time combined with the fact that the air intake piping is much larger then any single runner , the stock intake is not restrictive. Some types of intakes can effect the tuning of the engine by raising the engines power band somewhat given a little more top end power at the expense of mid/low rpm torque and throttle response. This is not a good trade off when you have a 4cyl engine trying to move a 3000 lb car.
3:You can improve throttle response and mid rpm power it little by getting a Honda engineered OEM TYPE S intake that uses a 2nd air box just before the throttle body to influence the tunning of the engine air pulses in a positive way. Also when accelerating hard , if you only hold the accelerator pedal down 3/4 to 4/5 of the way until the VTEC engages that also seems to give a boost to mid rpm power.
4:The stock intake has a valve at its input that gives the ecu the ability to tweak the intakes response an effectively tune the intake for the range of rpms your operating at which helps a lot with low/mid rpm power and fuel economy. .No aftermarket intake does that. Good luck,Bobby
