Hey, i've been wondering what all the engine names are and what their performance (HP and TQ) is? aka B16,B18 and so on. one of my friends keeps talking about swapping in engines and such and i'm just like cool. that be cool. but in reality i have not a clue as to which engine is what lol.

there are many different engine codes. the b16 is a dual over head 1.6 litre vtec engine that makes appro. 160hp to the crank. the b18 a&b are 1.8litre dohc non vtec engines that make approx. 140hp to the crank. the b18c is a "gsr" and does have vtec. it still only makes about 150-160hp to the crank depending on what year it is. from there you have the b17 which was a very rare motor only made for 1 year it was a 1.7litre dohc vtec that made 170 to the crank. then you have a b20 which is a dohc non vtec motor that makes approx. 160 to the crank. there are too many more to list but that is your B series motors.

 

Look man go to your local book store and find some books on honda. I found oneand it had the honda car history with what motors came in what with hp & tq ratings and then it talked about cheap easy mods and whats bang for buck. You can find some really good ones out there that will teach you a lot about honda.
