Hi I jus recently smoked my buddies tailights and was thinking about doing mine but was wondering if it was legal does any one know?

In the state of ca, it is illegal to smoke your lights, but if done lightly and you don't go hot rodding around the police will not normally bother you, only if you call attention, will they cite you for it. If you have a highly modified honda, they will inspect for serial numbers.

 

I never stopped anyone for a tail light violation,unless both lights are obstructed,such as blown bulbs. ACMECH is right do it lightly and drive like you have some sense and all will be well.
