Default What to buy????

Hi all, I am new here and am looking for some advice. I am getting ready to start a new job that will require me totravellonger distances so I am looking for a more fuel efficient vehicle. And since I live in Marysville, Ohio;Hondas are everywhere!

So I am thinking of a Civic or Accord. In your professional opinions, which one would be better for commuting? I will be putting about 150 miles a day on it. I would like something that I could reliably put 250k miles (or more) without too much trouble, but is still comfortable and affordable to drive.

I know nothing about Hondas, I driven larger cars and trucks all my life. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
S.

welcome to the forum. I own a 07 fit base, 22mos and 66k miles. I get 36-41 mpg driving 60-70 up and down the Cahon Pass I-15. comfortable to me, fits a 6'2" friend in the pass and car performs good. My friend owns a civic hy-bred and he gets average 50 mph doing the same run. He likes his civic. Accord is a good comfortable car, but consumes more fuel, more a family car.
my 90 accord is 180k and runs great.02 civic 165k runs great.
I know of a 98 civic with 600k original engine owned by a maco painter.
Hondas will give you 250k easy providing you do all the normal oil and filter changes.
Go test drive a Fit. The civic comes with natural gas, battery ops, or gasoline. The natural gas costs lots to purchase, but hook up to your home gas line machine costs about .85 cents per gallon, you will loose trunk space and its just a commuter to and from work, not cross country without good planning.

The Fit is a good suggestion, though if you need a little more space, but it is purely commuter for sure. Definitely consider the Civic hybrid - you can get about 45 mpg on the highway. You might look like a conformist in Marysville, but you'll have a great car that will seemingly drive forever!

you can find some fuel efficient cars at new cars auctions agency. otherwise if you need a car in cheap then go for used cars auctions agencies.
