Is my engines noise something to worry about? I know old hondas make tapping sounds because of the mechanical lifters, is this too much noise? The car is kind of a ****box, worth maybe 500 € so is it worth to do anything about it? I already adjusted the valves but it didn't do anything to the sound but made the performance a bit better. The clearances were actually a bit tight so i loosened them up. So even with tight clearances it was making this sound. Listening on the valvecover with a screwdriver I can hear little bit of tapping but listening the fuel injectors and fuel rail the sound is a lot louder in the same pace. I ran a bottle of injector cleaner but it didn't do anything. There's no tapping sound on cold mornings for a few minutes after starting, I think because then the oil is thicker, but when it warms up and the oil thins out the noise appears. I also changed the oil for a thicker one but it didn't really help.
Anyways, the car runs and works good, only issue is the noise being annoying.

welcome to the forum. older vehicles do make some noise. (like us as we get older the body creeks due to ware) just keep up with the maintenance and it should last a long while.
