I have a 2000 Accord v6 that has about 175k, just tuned up 2 mos ago. About twice a month, when I start the car, it will idle rough, then die. Starts every time, but dies. If I keep on the gas, it will stay running. After 2 mins. or so, it runs fine. No indicator lights of any sort. No frequency, just random times.

Any clues as to what it might be? I thought maybe a cam position sensor, but it always clears up. Happened in summer and winter, rain or shine. This is a equal opportunity and a non-discriminating problem.

welcome to the forum. Possible throttle position sensor, and or idle control valve. with 175k miles, the intake portion could be dirty and sticky.

 

Thanks! I will test out the tps and iac this weekend and see what comes out.

Hopefully I'll get another 175k under the belt.
