Default 2003 CRV idle speed

2003 CRV. When I start her up after she's been sitting around for a few hours the idle speed in Park runs around 1,800 rpm. Gradually comes down as the engine warms up. no check engine, or warning lights come on HELP!

Past week or so. Didn't pay that close attention to it, but I believe it used to be around 700-800 rpm. seems to be worse when starting up on cooler mornings. Thanks for replying.

Ifitstarts at 800 rpm when cold, that would be a problem.

At cold start the engine will rev about 1200 rpm then as the engine warms the rpms will come down to about 700 - 800 rpm and level off.

This would probably take afew momentsor so to doand as the air gets colder it will take longer.

If it stays high rpm andwon't decrease until the temp. gauge moves possibly the intake air temp. sensor may be faulty.

Yeah it's normal it's called cold start fast idle.Don't worry about it.If there was a problem with the idle control system a check Mil would be present.
the spec after engine is warm is 650RPM plus or minus 50
