Default 2006 Honda Accord

My 2006 Honda Accord has 266000 miles on it.
I bought it of the original owner 6 months ago and changed the oil with Mobil 1 5w20 like it calls for on the oil cap.
After 1000 miles,..the oil was 1/2 qt low and dirty looking.
No signs of any leaks under the car.
Also,...the engine has a slight ticking noise when first started until it warms up. 2.4l 4cyl.
Any suggestions?

welcome to the forum. just for info, some Hondas burn oil, some 0 burn. my 90 accord burned 2 qt of oil between oil change since new, passed smog every time, lots of power, milage 320k until wrecked by new driver not watching traffic. my 02 civic 340k, burned 0 oi,l oil change to oil change. yes higher milage cars oil will change to darker color due to the oil is cleaning the engine interior. detergent oil wash the engine and hold the carbon vs non detergent oil, stays clean and leaves the carbon build up in the engine. slight ticking can be adjusted, valve adjustment will quiet the ticking.. i know of accords going 500k miles, burning the same amount of oil you are and still on the road. no smoke, no leaks. passes smog. Ca. cars.

Ticking noise could mean it needs a valve adjustment
Which might resolve some of the burning oil????
