Default '98 & '01 Accords Need Paint

Hey Everyone,

I'm new to the site - so I'm not quite sure how this works. I've recently purchased two Accords and they both need to be painted. They're not awful (all one color still and minor body work will need to be done to them) but I can't find anyone who will do it for less than $1200 each (I paid $1100 for the '01 and $600 for the '98)...

Just wondering if anyone knows anyone in the Boston area who does nice work for a little cheaper price. I can upload pictures if it helps.

Thanks,

Mike

Hey @fastlane,

The '01 needs a bit of body work around the passenger rear fender (bit of body rot) and the '98 has a few rust spots but overall both aren't in bad, bad shape. It's more or less that the paint is fading on both and they are just eye sores.

The biggest problem you're running into, is that the cost of materials (paint and primer, tape and paper) will cost about 1500, and labor to paint the car will be about 2 grand (low side on the labor cost). And that's if it doesn't have any rust. It's just the way it is. I do auto restoration work for a living, so I have a pretty good idea on the costs.
And just because the car is a Honda, doesn't make it any cheaper than doing say a late 60's Chevelle or something like that, as the labor is still about the same, and materials are about the same.
