My AC stopped working.
I ordered a A/C Refrigerant Hose / Line on high side because there was a small, small leak, and I want to change the receiver drier before I order a brand new Denso compressor. Hoping that it will work again.
My question is that do I need to buy PAG oil to lubricate o-rings on these parts? Denso compressor will come with oil in it (if it comes to that) so I am wondering if I must buy it. Or can I use engine oil? Or nothing?

Also for 2002 Accord, do I need to remove the bumper to get to receiver drier? I see it, but I don't know if I can get to it.

 

Use pag or olive oil.

I was looking at walmart website. Can I use bulb grease instead? Regular dielectrical grease is expensive, but this one is like $3, and it says dielectrical. So I don't know the difference. Maybe only the packaging and marketing.

 

You are not looking for a good electrical connection you are looking for the proper lube.

 

Youtube has a video that shows how to replace Civic high side line, and when it was taken off, pag oil came out. the guy used it to lubricate the o-rings.

So, probably some will come out when I disconnect the existing line, so like you advised, I will have pag oil. That is good.Now, it leads me to another question. Do I need to buy pag oil anyway to replenish what I will lose?
