Hello All...I have a 1990 Honda Acccord EX with 161K miles. Recently the automatic transmission has been acting up. The (green) "S" button will come on and the car will suddenly downshift at 30 or 40 miles per hour. Then it will go off and the car seemingly goes up a gear. It is now doing this fairly regularly. Playing with the "S" button doesn't seem to do a thing. My local shop mechanic said I should take it into a Honda Dealer.

Any ideas what is going on, possible cost to fix, it it time for a graveyard service? hanks in advance.

 

You need it serviced before it turns red.
