Air Filters
filters made from cotton gauze that requires the use of oil aren't really the best to use. they are a pain in the *** to clean and oil can gunk up sensors. stick with a synthetic dry flow filter like AEM or K&N hybrid which is a re-branded AEM dryflow. AEM is also a lifetime filter unlike cotton which needs replacement.
I agree ,the cotton based oiled units are a bad choice,go with the dry flow high out put filters ,I have used them for years on every thing I own,I plan to do a cold air unit on my 16 Accord sport soon.
fastlane, AFE filter is a great option. This filter outflowed the factory filter by 31%. If you're not sure which one to choose, here is a comparison of all aFe filters for you: aFe - Comparison
Ooooh, well...Guess I wish I'd seen this before installing a perm. K&N clean and oil-type filter in my CRV.. I was going to rave about the increased 2 MPG on a trip I just finished (average) MI to NC round trip, but now I'm concerned that long-term, I may pay.
