Hi,

I have to replace my alternator for my Honda Civic LX 4D. I have two choices: Replace it with a Honda brand or with a jobber. There is a difference between them of $100.00. The Honda brand is guaranteed for a year and the jobber for 3 months.

Is it worthed to spend an extra $100.00 to have the Honda brand or I am paying for the name? I want to keep my car until it dies on me.

Welcome to the forums. to be honest you are just paying for the name. honda dealership parts are always wayy more expensive but 9 times out of 10 same quality as good brand parts from an auto parts store.. you also paying the extra 100$ for the warranty.. which is odd my alternator from advance auto parts or o'rileys came with a 1 year and it was only 125 after the core charge

 

An alternator is part of charging system of the car which produces electricity for many device.
