Default 91 accord ex charging system

after further tests as told by repair mauals and other sorces when (eld) lead wire from alternator plug is disconected and plug reinstalled the system charge tested at the battery is normal so i know that either the (eld) or (ecu) are the problem still woundering if it would cause any other problems if i would run without reconnecting the wire in the plug?

Well check the charging system. and make sure the alternative is charging efficiently and get back. try again connecting wire and check.

From what I understand is you must run an ELD,and they are no longer made, you may have to look in a salvage yard,What you describe does indicate a bad ELD. Check Ebay, let us know ,Good luck.

Default 91 accord ex eld

thanks for the input . I have replaced the eld but it wasn't one with power lock so now thats not working and now the problems are intermitant and if I disconect the battery for a short time then it does function at 14 plus volts. So i am sure now that the ELD is the problem, just need to find another one and I can get it from Dealer but have to buy the entire kick panel fuse block to get it evern though it is a plug in box at the top center and not a integrated part of the fuse box so will keep looking for one.

Glad we solved the problem now I would look for one on ebay or a salvage yard to avoid the cost of the panel at the dealer. Thanks for letting us know.
