Default Civic starting issues

I have a 2007 Civic. Last week the car was slow to start, as if the battery was weak. Tues night while driving home the battery light came on for a few seconds then went out. Wed morning the battery was dead. I removed the battery and was going to test it at work. When I saw it was over 6 years old I skipped testing it and bought a new one. I put it in last night and when I started the car, it was as if this battery was weak too, but it started. I turned it off, tried to start it again and it sounds like "electricity" is coming from the battery for a lack of better term. Any suggestions as to what I should look for this afternoon? I am going to start with checking the battery wires and terminal clamps for corrosion. Would that possibly make it produce that noise?

welcome to the forum. If you have good head lights but no start or clicking sound, clean your battery and terminals with a wire brush.
