Default CR-V battery box

Looking to answer the question about whther or not the plastic box surrounding the battery in my 2000 CR-V is "insulated." It looks like a simple plastic shell to me, so I'm not sure.

The question arises because I want to install a Titan brand battery heater pad, and the instructions say to not install the product in an insulated battery box.

The box can be removed but, then, I'm sure the Honda engineers felt it necessary to begin with.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, most come with a pad about 1/2 " thick ,that is the insulated pad. I guess the reason they are not functional with a pad is maybe like using a heating pad for you back problem with a coat on. The insulation can be removed .
