Electrical Problem in 93 Accord
I've got an automatic 93 Accord that I've been having issues with. For a year now, when I started the car, it would start in 2nd gear. The light on the dash would be in park (or any other gear) and in drive. It would remain in 2nd gear for about 5 m inutes, where the drive light on the dash would flash a few times, and it would jump into the appropriate gear. It seemed more frequent in rain, so we changed the seals around the rear lights, which were leaking pretty badly. It seemed to help, meaning it only started in 2nd occasionally.
Recently, I had a new engine put in, and after driving it home from the mechanic, it began to start in 3rd gear, and could be manually placed in 2nd gear bt shifting to 1st or 2nd. 3rd and 4th would be in 3rd gear. Now, there is no correcting itself. I've taken it to 2 mechanics, both of which checked out the transmission, and do not think it's the problem. The both say it's electrical. Does anyone have any experience with problems like this? Any advice?
