Default Engine Light , P2254

Hi,

2003 accord ex, 6 cyl.

My engine light comes on and off whenever it pleases. finally i got to Autozone and had the code read.
It is P2254. heres the printout

AF sensor line voltage high-21
Probable Causes
open or short circuit condition
poor electrical connection
failed AF sensor-21

has anyone had that problem in past?any tips, suggestions, ideas as to what next step should be?

Thanks

welcome to the forum, it should be the first 02 sensor in the exhaust system, the one in the cat is the second one.Don't purchase an aftermarket one, it will be ok for a short time then the light goes back on. There is a partsmember on this forumthat can help with parts at a reasonalble cost. Get yourself a service manual or a helms.

sensor is not difficult to change, make sure the color lines match up with each other, use the proper socket to fit snug, simple remove and replace. Find out theproper torque to secure sensor. check with mag auto parts, I beleive the parts person is on line, on cost and getting it to you.

If you would like a price quote, you can send me your vin number and I will get you a price. The reason I ask for this is because there are different converters for the accords and they all have different o2 sensors.

have you come across this erroecode in past? why would it show o2 sensor error?
isnt o2 sensor related to emission rather then voltage and af sensor?
im not to mechanically savy so thats why im asking this question.

thanks again

send me the vin number on the car because the first listing, i said since they have different converters, the sensors are different and the cats. It is the air fuel sensor which means bank 2 sensor 1. That would mean that it would be the rear top sensor. I am talking to my tech to make sure this is right.

This is your exhaust setup. You have a front and rear cat with a total of 4 sensors. Usually the one that is replaced are the top 2 laf sensors otherwise known as the air fuel ratio sensors. From the code, I am still checking to see which one it is. I will let you know later this afternoon. Hope this helps.
