Default help

my 91 CRX SI was recently in for altenator work. Tried to enter the freeway on a slight hill and the car seemed to not want to increase speed as it should. No problem shifting, but when I did the RPMs went high and seemed to stick. Felt as though something was misfiring. Suggestions greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum, Is your car a standard, if it is the clutch sounds like its getting weak and the slipping. This would make the rpm go high and the car not accelerate. If it is an automatic, it may be the transmission fluid low or failing. ( Auto or Standard ? )
( Alternator is the charging system, ) Slipping is the transmission or clutch system. Missfire is Sparkplug, sparkplug wires, distributor, fuel injectors, If possible, need more info on what and when the car is acting up please.
