Default Instrument Cluster

I purchased a 1995 Honda Accord with V6 from a lady who was going to junk the car that had a blown head gasket. Long story short, the engine was replaced and is running. The problem is that the instrument cluster does not work. The back light turn on without any problems. But, nothing else work, no speedometer, temperature gauge, gas gauge or RPM gauge. Thinking it was the cluster, I purchased one from the junk yard and the same thing happened. Thinking the cluster was bad, I had the guy from the junk yard replace it, same thing. Could it be that both clusters are bad or something else? I checked all of the fuses in the engine compartment and the kick panel in the car and neither of them are blown. What could be causing this problem? Is there a relay or fuse that I don't know about? I searched this site and I didn't find any answers to my problem.

welocme to the forum. with all the guages not working, trace your wiring from the back of the cluster connector back to the engine. perhaps a connector at the firewall or cable has been damaged or loose. may need to get a wire diagram to know where all the wires are going to.

Thanks. I traced the wires and the lead back to the interior buse box. I noticed that fuse numbers 1 2 3 and 5 are all empty. I don't know if there are supposed to be fuses in those slots. The fuses must be OEM because none of the local auto parts have them. Are those slots supposed to be occupied with fuses?

I could not tell you off hand, you might go to Honda Tech .com and see if you might find a manual with a wire diagram to assist you. You will have to sign in but its free. or if you plan to do a lot of work to your car, get yourself a service manual and it has a lot of info you can do it yourself to fix and save a lot.

Problem solved finally I went to the junkyard and purchased another fuse assembly module (the one that is in the kick panel on the driver's side inside of the car. Afterwards, my my cluster started working fine. What a PITA that was.
