new timming belt issue
my little brother just bought a cr-v,that just had the timming belt replaced,160,000 miles are on the car/truck,and it has a slight "tap". I found out later that the timming belt broke while the previous owner was driving her, and that he only replaced the belt, and water pump.>>is this something that can be fixed? ,or does the head need work,? what could the tap be? the previous owner said that it never had the tap untill the belt broke., and the idle seems fine,so i dont think it is a timming issue...please school me...
Welcome to the forum, sounds to me like a slight lifter tap is what you are hearing.Take a screw driver and hold the metal end to the valve cover and the plastic end to your ear .If the noise is in the head you will hear it much clearer.
