Seat belts
I have an unusual problem. My most frequent passenger has a habit of pulling her seat belt all the way out of the car before pulling it access her and buckling it. This is a problem because pulling the belt all the way out triggers the child seat holding mode, and it's not safe to ride in a car like that.
So far, I've been reminding her of that, and asking her to fix it (to disengage the child seat mode) when we drive together, but I want to know if I can do anything with the seat belt to alleviate it. I don't carry child seats, so I don't need the baby-seat mode, especially in the front, where my passenger always sits.
I want to know if there's any sort of lever or setting on the seat belt tensioner that will deactivate the child seat mode, or if I should just install an extra driver's seat belt on the passenger side.
I have a 1998 CR-V EX.
Thank in advance.
