I have a '97 Civic EX with a D16Y8 motor and factory tranny. Many mods to the motor and to the car. My recent problem is that my transmission grinds horribly in 2nd and 3rd gear. I know that my synchros are prolly bad and replacing them would fix the problem. I am very skilled in all forms of mechanics but I have taken an older Honda transmission and I dont know that I want to disassemble the guts of one. Is there anyone out there who has done this and can give me any advice on whether or not it is achieveable for someone who has never atempted it? Or can anyone tell me where I can find a salvage unit in Oklahoma?
