Default 1988 accord transmission grinding

I have a 1988 Honda accord with an automatic. When I go from reverse to park or neutral there is a small grinding noise for about two seconds. Other than that the trans works great. Anyone know what is going on here?

This is not a manual transmission it is an automatic. Thank you for the welcome!

automatics as well and manuals have synchronizers.. even though it is an automatic it still shifts its self through 5 gears.. it basically the same as a manual but you have "a robot" pressing and depressing your clutch for you.
