Default Trouble shooting gas guage

All of a sudden, the guage in my '94 delsol doesn't go above 1/2.
Any tips on trouble shooting to see if it's the guage or sender without dropping the tank?
TIA

I have had this problem on two of my vehicles, the sensors get dirty, pour in a bottle of Seafoam on a full tank,it may take two consecutive tanks with Seafoam to correct the problem.

Worked like a charm!
I didn't think of the seafoam although I use it in my bike, snowblower and tractor.
Great stuff!
