If you have high milage, it sounds like a possible rod knock. have you ever had the valves adjusted? what viscosity oil are you using? Has the engine ever been overheated? The fix for a rod knock is overhaul (if that is what the sound is from)

Thanks for the response

im using gtx high mileage 5W 30
the engine has not overheated but then again I have had it for about 1 yr now. I have had the valves adjusted

Would you recommend putting Synthetic oil 5W 30 along with some valve treatment oil.

won't make much of a difference what type of oil is used to get rid of the noise, synthetic will not hurt the engine, just expensive good oil being used. how long has this noise been with the engine, or when did it start. normally the noise will go quiet when the engine is working to push the car forward. when you cruise, it will make more noise. (rod knock) what is the milage of the engine.
