Default 1996 accord

Hi I have a 96 accord with the 2.2sohc vtec motor in it, it has about 190,000 miles and have never really had any major problems with it, today though while I was at work my girlfriend took it to the store and it drove fine there, but when she came out, started it and backed out of the parking space it wouldnt go into drive, it just reved and wouldnt go into gear. Reverse worked fine, has never had an issue with this before. trans fluid full and recently changed. also when you put it indrive the dash drive light doesnt light up. any ideas???

trans is probably shot honda never made a good automatic transmission . when you changed the fluid did you use honda fluid or a different brand because its very important to use only honda ATF fluid also the fill level is very touchy it needs to be at its perfect level not below the line and never above the line.
