Default 1996 oil pressure sender replacement

I tried searching for other posts concerning this part but couldn't find anything. I need to replace the oil pressure sender in my 96 Accord because it is leaking and was wondering if this is an easier DIY project for those that aren't very mechanically inclined. I have found the part online for about 10 bucks, and I was quoted at a mechanic that the part and install would cost $45. Thanks for your help in advance!

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay, hope we might be able to assist you. Go to autozone.com and register for free, but look under the 95 accord for repair, to engine electrical, to sending units and you will see the diagram and instructions to changing it. be sure you get a socket to fit the sending unit when you buy the unit. post your results please. and if you are going to do a lot of work to your car, get a repair manual, helms, chilton, factory repair manual all are good with info.

I did go to Autozone and looked for the 96 for the repair info. Thanks for the tip on looking at the 95. I'll see if this looks like something that I can fix myself. I'll let you know what happens, hopefully I can get this fixed within the next week or 2. Thanks again!

Alright, my Honda is actually in the shop today getting some work done so I have decided just to have them take care of it today... easy way out I know, but it's just easier since at the moment I dont have the Chilton or really any of the tools needed for this. Thanks again for the response though!!

I got an upper ball joint/control arm replacecd last week at Rocky Mtn Auto in Ft Collins, CO so I just had them replace the oil pressure sender at that time. They replaced it for $30, I was quoted $45 everywhere else so that was really nice. The job was also done in a very reasonable amount of time. I'll be going back there for sure.
