The power steering pump on a '98 Accord i just purchased is "whining" when making turns. There is enough fluid. Is this the beginning of the end for the PS pump? Could it last for months or do they go quickly? Anything i can do to try and stop the failure at this point?

no not that i no. you need a p/s pump it could last months or or give up anytime.?

 

If you think the power steering is whining, check for leaks. If the fluid heats up, it could expand above the minimum level so you might think the fluid is enough.
